What is a Facelift?
A facelift, also known as rhytidectomy, removes excess skin and fatty tissue from the jaw and neck, specifically addressing loose skin —a key concern in facial aging. The skin is carefully pulled back and positioned. Dr. Rajendra Shah and Dr. Samir Shah both possess the surgical expertise and experience to help you achieve a natural appearance, rather than a “pulled-tight” look.
A facelift can improve the skin and smooth deep cheek folds, nasolabial folds, jowls, and loose, sagging skin around the neck. Although a facelift will improve and enhance the contour of your face and jawline by refining facial contours, Dr. Rajendra Shah and Dr. Samir Shah advise facial rejuvenation patients that a facelift will not correct sun damage or fine wrinkles that have developed on the skin’s surface.
There are several facelift procedures available, including full and mini facelifts, each designed to address individual needs and specific areas of aging.
To treat these conditions, additional skin rejuvenation procedures, such as CO2 laser skin resurfacing, FotoFacial, chemical peels, and fat transfer (fat grafting to restore lost facial volume), may be recommended. These advanced services are all available at A New You Plastic Surgery and Medical Spa’s Orland Park office.
